The biggest and baddest Hive Fleet is on my table and ready! I am taking a break from Space Marines and beginning Tyranids, I was going to a month or two ago but figured I'd wait until the new Codex came out. Also my birthday is in a couple weeks
So far what I have for Tyranids is one of the new Battleforces and a Trygon/Mawloc
I am going to pour blood (mmmm tasty!), sweat, and tears into this army and make it beautiful. At least that's the plan. I'll try to get in updates weekly but I can not guarantee anything with school and work.
This will be my new blog, if you want to check out my old one here

I'm not sure yet, I'll probably do both for my army and try to magnetize the maw if I can...but I like what the Trygon looks like the best so I'll do that if I can't manage to magnetize.

I'm in school right now so I have to be brief
When I get home I'll be putting a base coat on my built Gaunts and Warriors, I have about 8 Termagants, 4 Hormagaunts, and 3 Warriors built. The Trygon hasn't even been touched...I'm going to just base them and wash them tonight...I WOULD be painting some fully but I realize I don't have any purple...major fail on my part but I'll pull through
I made my own wash and tested it out on STS17's Tau so now he has pink Tau too!

It will be tricky to manage,i've just assembled my trygon and i think you can do the head all together if you by the bits from some were maybe the tail wont be that difficult asweel, all you need to figure out are the antennas ,or however are them called, on the back.

Ugh well that doesn't sound like a lot of fun at all
I'll do some searching on the interwebs for someone that may have already done it. It's currently last on my to-do list because it's such a gorgeous model I want to "master" the Leviathan scheme before attempting something like that...
As an actual update, I have based and washed my first batch of gaunts and warriors, I'll be getting some little amounts of work on their carapaces and weapons but nothing really post worthy...eh I'll toss a picture up if I feel like it

I'm not sure if I want to paint a mix of Skull White and Bleached Bone like on the Termagant or use just Bleached Bone like on the warrior...
Obviously these are majorly WIP, I don't want to continue without a solid plan of the skin tone. Maybe Bleached bone with a blend into Skull white on the edges of joints and such? Not sure...

I like the armor on the gaunt and the skin on the warrior. You might try bleached bone for the skin and blend black to purple on the armor. Then wash the armor purple, then with that excellent pink wash you created, then wash the whole model with badab black. You might try a test model with that, it might turn out completely different than what I'm thinking.

I'll be working on the Warrior tonight. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's done.
Good idea Brother Michael, I didn't think of doing that. Some small highlights on detailed areas like the knuckles would definitely add some better 3D to it.

Am I the only one thats confused to why this post is even here?
Read the above posts. I am Praelium's brother and he "borrowed" one of my converted sniper drone spotters to test his paint scheme and self-made pink wash.
